Why does the Army wear blue?

Army Blue, as a uniform color, traces its origins back to the national blue of the American flag; it was first mandated for wear by Soldiers in the Continental Army of 1779. The ¡°new¡± Army Green uniform was inspired and based on the uniform worn by America’s ¡°Greatest Generation¡± as they won World War II.
